Where there’s a will there’s a way

How many times have you heard “I didn’t know guys in wheelchairs could have sex”or “How can they do that”  The subject of sexuality for the disabled is often times avoided by society and by medical professionals. This no longer needs to be the case because of new technology and and more open way to address this issue.

Over 1o,000 new spinal cord injuries occur each year and a majority of the newly injured are young men between the ages of 19 and 30.  One of the last things that guys in this age group would like to give up is the ability to have sex.

There has been a recent change in how to approach the subject of sexual relations for people with a physical disability.  Most rehab programs include sexual rehabilitation where couples can experiment with positioning and mobility issues and learn about different solutions that will work best for them.   Making adjustments in a couples personal relationship to continue a satisfying sex life is not always easy and it can be challenging.

Where there’s a will there is a way.  There are so many solutions available to couples now that all that really matters is how much a person wants to improve their sex life.  Anyone that watches any TV at all knows about the little blue pill to assist with erections.  If Viagra doesn’t work there are vacuum pumps, injections or implants that help in this area as well.  Lack of mobility can be overcome with the IntiamteRider.  Sexual performance and new positions are possible again  and a couple can still find the excitement and creativity to maintain a great sex life even after an injury of change in physical condition.

Is a great sex life worth it?  I think the response will usually be yes.  Now you just need to find out what will work best for you.
